I sent my email subscribers a free gift. What prompted me to do this? Other than being a really cool guy, I got the idea after getting diverted through some really posh neighborhoods in Washington D.C. last week. Security for the Inauguration was just crazy. Anyway, I was looking at these beautiful and obviously expensive homes and thought, “You know, I bet these people had their carpets and entire homes cleaned for the parties they are throwing during the Inauguration.”
If you want to not only survive during tough economic times, but thrive, you really need to get upscale clients. Their pocketbooks are less affected by downturns in consumer spending. Oh, and by the time you read this, I will be racing across the deserts of Baja, Mexico. I’ll tell you about it when I get back.

Thanks for the report. I really liked the part on charging more.

a very interesting article.
Joe is correct but a lot of cleaners are scared to give away 200square feet.
Dependent on doing Good audit.
Not all cleaners when starting out have shiny new vans and truckmounts but yes that does wow the customer.
So what comes first shiny new van etc or give away 200square feet?
